Statement / UGTT
After the repeated threats against the workers in the national television during the sit-in, which lasted nearly two months around and after trying to storm the headquarters and the physical assault on physical integrity of its staff, the Executive Office of the General Union of Tunisian Workers: - Strongly condemns these attacks and expresses its support for the staff in the national television : workers, technicians, administrators and journalists. - Calls for immediate evacuation of the blockade imposed on the television and protection of all its employees and the application of the law against aggressors. - Emphasizes that the national television is a public facility which is not for sale and that media reform should never be by its privatization but by its evaluation and restructuration and the activation of an independent board to enact laws regulating and reinforcing it to ensure public funding and secure its freedom and independence .
